We’re TYT, and while this may be our first post here on Substack, our journey began over two decades ago. We’re not new to this. We’ve been fighting for truth, justice, and the everyday American since 2002.

Allow us to begin with an important note: We’re new to Substack. Changes are inevitable but we’re so excited to connect with the audience here.

To those of you who’ve been with us since the beginning — you know what I’m talking about, back in the days when we looked like this — thank you. You are the reason we’re still here.

Our longtime viewers and supporters power our work. We are TYT because of you. This new space on Substack is another way to stay connected, not just to the news, but to each other. Here, we’re building something different here. It’s a chance to go deeper, to speak freely, and to shape the conversation together.

Whether you’ve been rocking with us for 20 years or just found us today, you’re part of TYT’s mission to drive positive change. And now, together on Substack, we have one more place to make an impact, one post, one discussion, and one action at a time.

In case you’re new to us, allow us to introduce ourselves.

Back in the early 2000s, when broadband was just taking off and YouTube hadn’t even launched yet, we had a wild idea: What if we brought real, independent, honest news to the internet? Not fluff. Just the truth and delivering news and commentary with you in mind. Not corporate spin.

Today, we have 29 million followers and 31 billion lifetime views (and growing!)We’ve won many awards along the way including Webbys, Shortys, Streamys, and more! We’re the largest online news network in the country and our flagship show The Young Turks is the longest running show online and is celebrating 20 years on YouTube as their first ever partner channel. So, we are the original YouTubers.

At TYT, we do things a little differently. We start with the facts, deliver deep dives, add perspective that are grounded, unapologetic, and often from the left, but always independent.

We’re proud to offer a spectrum of opinions across the network. Our hosts are encouraged to speak freely, whether their views lean far left, center-left, or somewhere in between. That intellectual honesty, we believe, builds real trust and community.
